I travel a lot for my job, so I spend a lot of time in my local airport, SFO. Now on my search for Ramen, I’ve actually found one in Terminal 2 of SFO, the Virgin America Terminal. There’s a food outlet called WAKABA SUSHI & NOODLE and on their menu is an item simply called “RAMEN”. I wish I could say it’s amazing, it is not. The broth is simple, the noodles plain, the toppings flavorless and there is a ton of seaweed. There’s really not much more to say, this is not ramen. This is japanese flavored soup at the airport… sigh. I wont try to be clever in my writing and wax philosophical about how Ramen should be revered and done right rather than cheap but I won’t. This is an airport food stall that offers a soup dish that is ramen-like in name only. Do yourself a favor and get that burrito instead.
